Just like bankruptcy, many States make you prove what items you have gotten rid of in the previous 5 years. Too many shysters trying to bilk the agencies. Nursing Homes need to be paid. You might have had to "sell", more of a morgage really, on your house and you would have to repay the nursing home then to pay the morgage off.
